In 48 hours. She’s on.
The champion Kansas City Chiefs welcome Houston to town to kickoff what is sure to be one of the most dramatic and unpredictable seasons we have ever seen.
Here is how I see week one playing out…
CHIEFS 34, TEXANS 24
Mahomes, Clyde, Kelce, Tyreek, Watkins, Andy Reid… say no more.
FALCONS 30, SEAHAWKS 27
I’ll give Atlanta another chance thanks to their potent offence and because everyone enjoys underrating Russ Wilson.
BILLS 24, JETS 17
Josh Allen has his WR1 and the AFC East is Brady-free. Expect the Bills to pounce.
BEARS 23, LIONS 22
Yes, the QB room is up for grabs, but the Bears defence should trouble Stafford and I like Chicago as one of the best underdogs of the week.
VIKINGS 30, PACKERS 22
Green Bay will be an intriguing watch. They’ll be good for as long as Aaron Rodgers is happy. But they will not beat Minnesota – who I expect to be serious NFC contenders.
PATRIOTS 22, DOLPHINS 17
The Cam Newton era begins. You’d imagine Belichick-McDaniels will have some potent plays drawn up using the best ever goal line QB threat. Stay on the bench Tua.
EAGLES 26, WASHINGTON 20
The Eagles have a tendency to drop these games but Washington have had the off-season from hell and they weren’t much good before that. Chase Young will be unmissable, though.
PANTHERS 22, RAIDERS 21
No clue who wins this one. Panthers get the edge thanks to No. 22, who will handle the rock as many times as he possibly can.
COLTS 17, JAGUARS 13
Phil Rivers will bring tenacity to Indy but his play has dropped off and Jacksonville, well, we know they’re ‘Tanking 4 Trevor.’
RAVENS 33, BROWN 24
Cleveland have performed well inside the Ravens nest and I’m expecting a drop off from Action Jackson this season. They’ll still get a dub here.
CHARGERS 23, BENGALS 20
With a full house of Bengals fans in The Jungle I’d almost be swayed to take Joe and the Tigers. But, got to take the more talented squad despite everyone knowing Ty Taylor is just warming the seat.
SAINTS 33, BUCCANEERS 28
Unmissable. Tompa Bay and Gronk roll into The Superdome to face Brees, Kamara and Mike Thomas. Maybe the QB who possesses the ball last wins.
NINERS 27, CARDINALS 20
Hopkins gets a huge deal, Murray should grow in confidence but San Fran is built to dominate and will do so with its defence and Kyle Shanahan’s creativity.
RAMS 30, COWBOYS 28
LA can bounce back from a 9-7 season with a big win over the ‘Boys. Every snap Dak takes will be grossly scrutinised. Like Ceedee Lamb to become a star but the Rams can open SoFi Stadium in style – without fans 😦
STEELERS 24, GIANTS 17
Big Ben is back which means JuJu and Conner should return to Fantasy prominence and the Steelers will be an offensive threat. It’s Saquon, Dan Jones and not much else in New York.
TITANS 24, BRONCOS 20
Winning in Denver is a tough gig. No matter the scenario. But losing Von Miller on the eve of the season could be a back breaker for the boys from Mile High.
