This Inter Dominion series is fast becoming about two horses.
The remarkable return to form of A G’s White Socks and the sheer dominance of four-year-old Ultimate Sniper.
Fellow heat-winners Paramount King, Majestic Man, Winterfell and particularly Temporale have been impressive across the opening two nights but this pacing pair have been incredibly exciting for various reasons.
From a punting point of view, Majestic Man was our only joy on the night but the Temporale/Marcoola quinella was also a nice play.
Night three sees a five furlong rise in distance, up to the 2700m.
Draws become even more important over the long trip and that’s how we’ll be attacking night three – speed maps!
RACE SIX – INTER DOMINION PACING CHAMPIONSHIP – HEAT FIVE (2700m)
Chase Auckland has drawn gate one for the third consecutive heat – remarkable in itself – but the kind draws have not resulted in a victory as yet. Here, a few might have a look at the front considering he handed up Tuesday to A G’s White Socks.
Colt Thirty One could have a look and it’s not without hope that he finds the top and keeps that advantage.
The in-form freak, Ultimate Sniper, will be on the scene at some point and IF he sits outside either Colt Thirty One or Chase Auckland and wins, you can give him the trophy.
San Carlo draws handy and can follow through in the running line whilst the rest will be scrapping for enough points to make the Grand Final.
Selections;
1 Ultimate Sniper $1.40
2 Chase Auckland $4.40
3 Colt Thirty One $11
4 San Carlo $18
RACE SEVEN – INTER DOMINION TROT CHAMPIONSHIP – HEAT FIVE (2700m)
Aussie Tough Monarch lands the ace alley but his form is worrying. Whether he holds the lead or not is an unknown but either way he will get a cosy trip to be scoring big points and advancing. Kiwis Habibi Inta, Temporale and Paramount King are all in the market from their front line draws but Habibi Inta is not going well enough.
Marcoola has been running home strong but drawn eight, his $2.70 quote is poisonous.
Nothing outside those mentioned will be winning this heat.
Selections;
1 Temporale $4
2 Tough Monarch $5.50
3 Marcoola $2.70
4 Paramount King $4.80
RACE EIGHT – INTER DOMINION PACING CHAMPIONSHIP – HEAT SIX (2700m)
Early markets for the last of the Inter Dominion pacing heats are fascinating with Thefixer heavily supported. Drawn four, he’s been $3.20 into $2.20 with Sportsbet which I think is wrong. The speed map may well have Cruz Bromac leading from two before his New Zealand Cup-winning stable mate comes looking for the top.
From there, I would much prefer to be on the most recent Cup winner and not the well supported Thefixer. I do think they’ll run the quinella so there’s a lead.
Bling It On will need to be driven confidently whilst A G’s White Socks faces a tall task off the second row but with maximum points in the bank, he can afford to cruise through and sprint home.
Selections;
1 Cruz Bromac $2.30
2 Thefixer $2.20
3 Bling It On $12
4 A G’s White Socks $6
RACE NINE – INTER DOMINION TROT CHAMPIONSHIP – HEAT SIX (2700m)
Winterfell and Massive Metro draw to dominate the last of the Inter Dominion heats. Aussie Big Jack Hammer’s gate speed will be a factor early but should he cross he’d certainly be happy to hand to either of his more fancied rivals.
Majestic Man lobs a perfect back row draw with the ability to get directly into the running line and conserve energy.
Winterfell seems to be doing things right so he’s my on top selection from the draw but Big Jack Hammer is a nice place hope.
Selections;
1 Winterfell $2.10
2 Majestic Man $2.60
3 Big Jack Hammer $14
4 Massive Metro $4
Enjoy the third and final round of ID19 heats before the fields for the Grand Finals are settled.
