Spring is here and so is football season.

From Mystic Journey & Libertini to the New England Patriots & Patrick Mahomes – it’s all happening.

My week 3 NFL picks are in as well as a few worth following in each of the equine codes.

Week 3 NFL Picks;

JAGS 23, TITANS 20
BILLS 24, BENGALS 21
COWBOYS 33, DOLPHINS 13
PACKERS 28, BRONCOS 17
FALCONS 27, COLTS 20
CHIEFS 34, RAVENS 23
VIKINGS 22, RAIDERS 17
PATRIOTS 31, JETS 10
EAGLES 26, LIONS 17
CARDINALS 17, PANTHERS 14
BUCCANEERS 24, GIANTS 17
TEXANS 28, CHARGERS 27
NINERS 23, STEELERS 21
SEAHAWKS 24, SAINTS 17
RAMS 28, BROWNS 23
BEARS 22, REDSKINS 20

And a few I like at the races. Bet responsibly!!

Caulfield;
Race 7 – Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes (1400m, Group 1, $500,000)
I’m shooting for value here and trusting Cliff’s Edge to regain form back at handicap conditions. He loves being on the speed and the stable say he will relish the ground.
Up-and-comer Begood Toya Mother drops 7kg in weight and will be up alongside Cliff’s Edge gunning for the lead.
Mare Amphitrite was excellent resuming and will enjoy a weights swing against the boys.

Selections;
1 Cliff’s Edge $23
2 Begood Toya Mother $2.40
3 Amphtrite $7.50
4 Spirit of Valor $17

Randwick;
Race 4 – Darley Tea Rose Stakes (1400m, $200,000)
Libertini had her knockers after falling in last start but the win was meritorious given the way the track was playing. Godolphin filly Flit seems a logical upset merchant but I am confident this is a superstar filly and Another Cummings knows how to prepare them. After those two, Anaheed goes good as does Probabeel, especially with cut in the ground.

Selections;
1 Libertini $2
2 Flit $8 (scratched)
3 Probabeel $13
4 Funstar $4.40

Race 6 – The Shorts (1100m, $160,000)
Plenty of Everest contenders resuming or continuing their campaigns here. There’s definite uncertainty about Sunlight and In Her Time taking their place in boggy conditions.
Redzel got back to his best last up and will enjoy the wet track this week.
Osborne Bulls resumes and is a star but does have five straight Group 1 second-placings beside his name. He needs luck.
Pierata was enormous in the Concorde and will give this a shake.

Selections;
1 Redzel $4.80
2 Pierata $4.70
3 Osborne Bulls $7 (scratched)
4 Santa Ana Lane $7.50 (scratched)

Race 7 – Colgate Optic White Stakes (Group 1, 1600m, $500,000)
Avilius has gone under in his first two runs but he’s been excellent both times. This is the one he needs to claim, however.
Happy Clapper is still going strong and can give a sight here from on the speed whilst Samadoubt will again be looking to catch them snoozing by running, gunning and leading all the way.

Selections;
1 Avilius $3.80
2 Happy Clapper $5
3 Dream Force $4.20
4 Verry Elleegant $6.50

Tabcorp Park Menangle
Racing kicks off Friday night in Sydney’s west with a Group 3 event across 2300m for the open class pacers.
Tiger Tara is the dominant favourite across his more preferred distance but chinks are beginning to emerge in the now nine-year-old warhorse.
I like one at odds. Wrangler – from the Craig Cross barn – is an improving type at this level and draws to get the gun run from three.
Alta Orlando was heavily backed last week and does get the Luke McCarthy polish so he’s in the mix.

Selections;
1 Wrangler $20
2 Tiger Tara $1.70
3 Alta Orlando $4.80
4 The Black Prince $4

My best bets across the weekend;
NFL;
Kansas City win 1-13 (2.46)
Houston win ($2.36)
Harness;
Menangle R7 N3 Wrangler each way ($20)
Melton R9 N7 Tell Me Tales ($1.40)
Omaru R7 N7 Spankem (No odds as yet)
Gallops;
Caulfield R7 N6 Cliff’s Edge each way ($23)
Randwick R4 N1 Libertini ($2)
Randwick R5 N7 Cascadian ($3.80)
Morphettville R2 N1 Beauty ($2.60)
Morphettville R7 N5 Soothing ($3.40)

Good luck, enjoy your weekend and here’s hoping…
